Quality as a key success factor

The quality management system (QMS) is considered by the enterprise management as a determining factor in ensuring continuous improvement of activities and in achieving stable success of the enterprise.

All products manufactured by the plant correspond to:

• regulatory documentation for each type of product, as well as legislative requirements in force in Ukraine.
• European harmonized standards.

PJSC Odeskabel assesses products for compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations and EU Directives, as well as certification of products in the bodies for conformity assessment.

The management of PJSC Odeskabel adopted the concept of a process approach, based on a “risk-based thinking”, in the development, implementation and improvement of the effectiveness of the QMS, taking into account the expected or desired degree of customer satisfaction, as well as the needs and expectations of other interested parties.

In order to comprehensively take into account the requirements of all interested parties, an integrated management system was introduced at the enterprise, including a QMS developed on the basis of DSTU ISO 9001 (ISO 9001), an environmental management system according to DSTU ISO 14001, a occupational health and safety management system according to DSTU OHSAS 18001, a social management system liability according to the international standard SA 8000.

Internal quality control system

One of the main levers for improving the quality of manufactured cable and wire products is the use of an integrated approach when planning quality at all stages of the product life cycle.

Materials purchased for the manufacture of cable and wire products are subject to input control, which is carried out by specialists of the central factory laboratory of the enterprise for various indicators that have a direct impact on the quality of the finished product (physical, mechanical, electrical, etc.).

The requirements for the quality indicators of the purchased materials are established on the basis of numerous experimental studies and the experience of specialists of technological services of the enterprise.

At all stages of production, the specialists of the technical control department (OTK) confirm the compliance of the quality indicators of semi-finished products and finished products with the established requirements.

Test conditions and a list of controlled parameters are specified in regulatory documents (in international and harmonized standards, as well as in the technical specifications of Odeskabel PJSC for manufactured cable and wire products).

Competence of the testing laboratory and quality control department

Since 2006, the testing laboratory of Odeskabel PJSC has been accredited for technical competence according to DSTU ISO / IEC 17025 for assessing the conformity of cable and wire products.

Currently, over 50 test methods are included in the laboratory accreditation area.

The testing laboratory includes 10 leading employees of the enterprise (5 of them are OTC specialists).

The testing laboratory of the plant and the OTK units are equipped with a modern one, incl. unique, testing equipment of leading world manufacturers, which allows for periodic, standard, control and acceptance tests of the entire range of products according to the required quality indicators, including on resistance to the effects of electrical, physical, mechanical and climatic factors, in accordance with the requirements of national and international regulatory documents.

In particular, the testing units are equipped with unique equipment for measuring and testing:

• Installation for complex measurement of cable parameters for structured networks AESA-9500 (AESA, Switzerland); 
• Optical emission spectrometer for determining the mass fraction of elements in copper ARL 4460 (firm "Applied Research Laboratorias", Switzerland);
• Test bench SR-100 kV for checking with high voltage and determining the level of partial discharges in power cables with XLPE insulation for operating voltage up to 35 kV (Dielec, China);
• Universal measuring platform MTS 6000 (JDSU), etc.

The high quality of the work carried out by the testing laboratory is confirmed by the results:

• similar labs;
• external audit by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU).

* In aggregate, all of the above ensures reliable and safe operation of cable and wire products of Odeskabel TM throughout the entire service life.

How to protect yourself from counterfeit products?

In the cable market there are cases of circulation of counterfeit products. Counterfeit cable and wire products, in the literal sense of the word, are DANGEROUS for human life and health - there is a risk of fires and accidents when using low-quality products, as well as, in some cases, the release of harmful and dangerous substances into the atmosphere.

In order to minimize the risks of acquiring counterfeit (fake) cable products, we offer:

• To buy goods ONLY in the company’s branded stores and in our branches located in different cities of Ukraine, in the places where the products of the joint venture are sold (Republic of Moldova), as well as from authorized dealers in other countries.
• Check the authenticity of products through the company's website on-line.
• Use other methods that will help distinguish the product of our company from counterfeit products (check the availability of the Quality Certificate and / or Declaration of Conformity, make sure that the products are placed in the original packaging with the logo of PJSC Odeskabel or a trademark patented by the company, and also check the availability of the corresponding markings on the surface of the product and / or in the accompanying label).
